Jessica's passion for writing sparked when she was in kindergarten when she painted a page from The Rainbow Fish, and saw in it, the magic of books. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom also blew her young mind.
And so, she fell in love with stories.
A former preschool teacher and published poet, Jessica now pours her passion for children's stories into her own books, writing everything from board books to YA. An active SCBWI, 12x12 Picture Book Challenge, and Inked Voices member, she's also a 2025 Inked Voices PB mentor and an admin and moderator for The Story Artists' Path.
Jessica received the 2024 Jane Yolen and Heidi E.Y. Stemple Highlights scholarship and has two poems featured in Little Thoughts Press magazine's Pride issue (all proceeds donated to The Trevor Project) as well as a poem featured in The Dirigible Balloon anthology, Sky Surfing: Adventures in a Poetry Balloon.
Jessica lives in Northern California with her husband and cats, Gus and Meeko.
When she's not writing, she loves to play video games and board games, keep up her Duolingo Spanish streak, go on walks, read, eat a lot of pasta, cuddle with her fur babies, and daydream about writing new stories that capture that same magical feeling from her kindergarten days.
